Por Siempre Joven (Forever Young)

Luego de escuchar lo que Jay-Z grabó para su álbum The Blueprint 3, no tuve duda alguna de cerrar mi más reciente secuencia de éxitos 70s-80s con el mayor éxito de la agrupación alemana Alphaville.

Primer sencillo del álbum del mismo nombre, la canción Forever Young ha sido y, según parece, será, el mayor referente de la unión de talentos de Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd y Frank Mertens, quienes en ese entonces conformaban el grupo. Esto, a pesar de contar con otras buenas composiciones dentro de una lista de lanzamientos realizados entre 1984 y 2006, incuyendo Big in Japan, del mismo álbum, que tuvo un marcado éxito no solo en Alemania, sino en por lo menos una docena de países y territorios.

Volviendo a Forever Young, definitivamente es una de aquellas canciones que se mantiene fiel a su nombre y a su espíritu, pudiendo ser escuchada en cualquier época sin que eso prejuzgue de la estética aplicada a la misma dentro de la tendencia synthpop tan arraigada en Alemania y países vecinos. Claro que cuando escuché lo que Jay-Z hizo con ella no me dejó otra opción que volver a mis viejos discos de acetato y a mis CD's de clásicos de antaño.

Aferrémonos al deseo de ser siempre jóvenes y disfrutemos de este clásico.
